TITAN Cementara Kosjerić presents the annual CSR Report for the seventh time in a row, in which a review was made of the investments in the local community, which amounted to over 225,000 euros in 2016. This is the first integrated report, prepared by the company under the accompanying framework of the International Integrated Reporting Council (IIRC), in order to present financial, social and environmental results in a more complete and transparent way to the readers, thus strengthening the good cooperation with the surroundings. The report was verified by independent auditors from EY Serbia, in accordance with the guidelines of the Global Reporting Initiative – GRI.
“In our work we remain focused on long-term stability and business development, trying to improve three basic areas: financial results, our impact on society, and environmental protection. We are making great efforts in cooperation with local stakeholders, following international flows and engaging in important national and global initiatives that promote social responsibility and sustainable development. During 2016, we aligned our goals with the United Nations Global Compact’s Objectives for Sustainable Development. We will continue to direct the focus to the priorities of social responsibility, achieving even better results in the fields of environmental protection, and occupational health and safety. Support of our partners – employees, clients and suppliers, local communities – is realized through cooperation in all aspects of sustainable development, and paves the way for prospective further growth and progress, by which we build sustainable connections together,” said Miroslav Gligorijević, general manager of TITAN Cementara Kosjerić, during the events organized at Jordan Đukanović Primary School in the village of Varda.
As the company’s business priority, safety at work is subject to constant check-ups and improvements. Good practices applied in TITAN Cementara Kosjerić bring good results and the awareness of safety is promoted not only within the plant and throughout the supply chain, but also among the youngest generations – seven classes of fourth graders from elementary schools in Kosjerić took part in the programme “Safety First”.
During 2016, TITAN Cementara Kosjerić was focused on high criteria set in the environmental protection plan, which also involved significant investments. The results were visible and constantly monitored. The goals for limiting air emissions and water consumption were achieved, and we continue with investments and improvements in the field of energy efficiency, reduction of the consumption of natural resources, and the fight against climate change.
Commentary on the Integrated Annual Report of the company was also given by representative from the audit firm EY Serbia, who introduced the process of verifying the information presented in the Report.
